I owned a D-link wired Gaming router that worked great, so after my roommate bought a few of the D-Link Xtreme N bridges, I thought I should get a proper wireless router and a couple of bridges to go with it to connect up all rooms in the house. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of updating to the latest firmware as soon as I brought the router online. Apparently, the latest firmware is completely broken. My router locks up every 3-5 days or so. It has to be physically power cycled. My roommates are not happy with me when this happens. Seriously, I wish they would fix this. I just got the router a couple of weeks ago, but from what I've read the broken firmware(that you can't roll back) has been around for over 3 months without a fix yet. Boo on D-Link.

NO resetting this thing, it stays up and running on my demanding home network (2 Xboxs, Wii, 3 desktops, 2 laptops, and at least 3 mobile devices at any given time). One of, if not the best router on the market.

I'm not impressed with DLink. Their firmware is half baked and the router constantly stalls. DLink support is horrible.

I've had this router for about a year, and it worked well at first, except that my Windows Home Server would occasionally fail when it tried to admin it via UPnP. I thought upgrading to the latest firmware might help fix the problem, but it's ruined what was a pretty good router.
When I downloaded the 1.20 firmware, the website did say that once "upgraded" the router could not be reloaded with the older firmware. I thought, it's a router, why would I ever want to reload older firmware? I pushed update, and that was the last time my router worked like it is supposed to.
If you look at the D-Link forums for this product you will see many people complaining that the router has to be reset every few days. D-Link has said they are aware of the problem and they are working on a fix, but so far (7/7/09) the firmware that they released in May is still broken.
If you buy this router now, be warned, you'll want to put it somewhere so that you can pull the power on it and reset it every few days, or your internet access will get slow and eventually stop.

Though I have not used its full capacity or the full list of functionalities, it has met my expectations in every way, range, delay, routing. Good to go.
